IT Work Plan

Risks, Concerns and Issues

  • Organization
    • Two programmer vacancies in Administrative systems
    • Organization of IT Academic Computing still needs to be defined.
  • Have not been able to schedule some projects due to limited resources.
    • Campuses could take the lead in some of these projects (e.g. bulk Email, room scheduling)
  • Need to confirm that all of Antioch will continue to have access to resources of OLN (for Learning Management) and OhioLink (for library resources).
  • IT Budget
    • At present unable to give a budget estimate for the IT plan.
    • Unknowns include what systems will be selected for LMS and recruitment/prospect management, and whether we will eventually migrate to a new Email system.
  • Standardizing Email addresses & domain names
    • Implementing the Antioch active directory without standardizing Email addresses and domains will greatly increase complexity, costs, and risks.
    • People can keep their existing Email addresses as aliases so changeover should be relatively transparent.

Communications

  • IT Steering Committee, ULC, and IT Staff Emailed with minutes of IT Steering Committee meetings.
  • First Class conference - ‘UNIV IT Policies and Planning’ – has been set up and is accessible to all FirstClass users.
    • Need to send Email to all of Antioch to let people know that the conference exists.

Next Steps

  • Development of IT Plan is an ongoing process.
    • Will continue with more detailed analysis of projects.
    • Set up team to look at selecting a recruitment / prospect management system.
  • First Class conference - ‘UNIV IT Policies and Planning’ – has been set up and is accessible to all FirstClass users.
