Nancy Pike Named Chair at Antioch University New England

As chair of the Department of Applied Psychology, Pike to lead program initiatives

Antioch University New England has named Nancy J. Pike as chair of the Department of Applied Psychology. The department, which educates counselors and therapists, has programs in clinical mental health counseling, dance/movement therapy and counseling, marriage and family therapy (master’s and doctoral), and autism spectrum disorders.

“Nancy brings a deep knowledge of the issues and challenges facing counselors and therapists in New England today,” said Katherine Clarke, Antioch New England’s Vice President of Academic Affairs. “The department will benefit from her vision, imagination, and spirit of innovation.”

Nancy will lead the department’s faculty and staff and guide the academic initiatives for the department’s programs. She plans to continue the initiatives started under Katherine Clarke’s strong leadership and to explore the potential improvements new technologies offer in the areas of teaching and program delivery models.

Prior to becoming chair, Nancy served as a visiting core faculty member in ANE’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CHMC) program and as the interim program director of ANE’s CMHC program. She is a former dean of students and director of counseling at Marlboro College in Marlboro, Vermont. In addition, as a principle of Pike and Moscrip Counseling Services in Brattleboro, Vermont, she has many years of mental health counseling experience.

Nancy has been a student in ANE’s clinical psychology doctoral program (PsyD) and holds an MS in Counseling and Human Systems from Florida State University and a BA in history from the University of Massachusetts.
