Foundations of Transformative Change

Learn the foundations and levers of leading meaningful change.

Course Description

This course provides a world view of transformative change from three perspectives—current evidence of why transformative change is needed, how participants apply this learning to their own community or organizational “labs,” and what they need to do to sustain transformative change. Participants will assess disruptors of transformative change, experiment with viable options to address these disruptors, and plan movement forward.

  1. Identify a plan for engaging transformative change in your community or organization
  2. Share this plan with key stakeholders and revise as appropriate and relevant
  3. Use evidence from current practices, the literature, and research to shape your plan further
  4. Engage key team dynamics to align your plan with team needs

Strategic Planning for Sustainable Futures

Understand concrete pathways to for inclusive strategic planning.

Course Description

There was a time when strategic planning was not taken seriously in organizations and communities because it had insignificant impact. Enter strategic planning in 2020 and beyond! This course demonstrates what strategic plan is, how it makes a meaningful difference, and the critical components of successful strategic planning. This course takes an engaged approach to not doing strategic planning to others but rather, engaging strategic initiatives for greater organizational and community effectiveness.

Leading and Implementing Successful Change

Discover a holistic action-planning based approach to leading successful change.

Course Description

This course is designed as a change lab and focuses on piloting a project using evidence-based practices, needs assessment methods, and processes for evaluating effectiveness of change initiatives. Participants will tailor this course to their organization’s or community’s needs, as well as develop a plan for positive action that increase the likelihood of sustainability.

Learning Experiences

  1. Apply needs assessment and / or appreciative inquiry methods to implement successful change
  2. Use evidence-based practices to inform learning
  3. Develop an action plan for change
  4. Engage evaluation tools to assess change effectiveness
  5. Revise approaches based on key learning from key stakeholders
