BS in Healthcare Administration

Introduction

Healthcare in the United States is an ever-evolving industry, with emerging societal trends constantly changing the landscape. This, paired with fragmented and opaque insurance systems, has created a massive demand for Healthcare Administrators who understand the nuances of the industry. This major prepares students with skills in being effective leaders and administrators in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare organizations. It is best suited for those with an allied health background, such as nursing, respiratory care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dental hygiene, and medical laboratory technology. Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration major is a 60 credit bachelor’s completion major. The Healthcare Administration major expands educational opportunities for students who began their education at two-year institutions with a focus on the Allied Health professions. The Healthcare Administration major will also provide a distinct pathway for program graduates to continue their studies with Antioch University Online in the Master of Human Services Administration.

Degree Requirements

Program Length:

The length of time it will take a student to complete a degree depends upon (1) the number of credits transferred into the program and (2) the number of credit hours taken each term.

Requirements:

Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree through Antioch University Online include a minimum of 120 semester credit hours. A minimum of 45 semester credits must be completed with Antioch University. A minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter credits must be completed with Antioch University. All majors contain both Interdisciplinary Core and Major Requirements. Interdisciplinary Core (15 credits)
