International Transcript Evaluation Requirements

If you completed your education outside of the United States, you’ll need to have your academic record evaluated to ensure that your coursework and academic degrees are equivalent to those offered by regionally accredited institutions in the U.S.
Accepted Evaluators

Antioch University accepts transcript evaluations from accredited evaluators who are members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Applicants may choose any NACES-accredited evaluation service. We recommend one of the following:

Evaluation Requirements

To be considered official, evaluations must be based on official documents sent directly from your previous institutions to the evaluation company. Please note the following specific requirements:

  • Undergraduate Admissions: An official sealed course-by-course evaluation is required.
  • Graduate Admissions: General evaluation is required unless your program has prerequisites, in which case a course-by-course evaluation is necessary.
    If you’re unsure about the requirements for your specific program, please don’t hesitate to contact your admissions counselor for clarification before ordering an evaluation.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
To ensure academic success, Antioch University requires proof of a high level of proficiency in the English language. You can demonstrate this proficiency by taking one of the following exams:

Exam Minimum Score

  • TOEFL (Internet-based) 79
  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5
  • Duolingo English Test 105
  • Cambridge English Exam 180 (C1 Advanced)

Please note that these minimum scores are subject to change. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact your admissions counselor before registering for an exam.

To ensure that you have sufficient funds to cover educational and living expenses, we require documentation of your financial support for at least one academic year of your program. Please review the Estimated Budget Sheet, then submit the Financial Statement and the required documentation. The bank documentation should include the following elements:

  • Bank name and address on official letterhead
  • Dated no earlier than 6-9 months before the first day of the start term
  • Sponsor’s first and last name, relation to the applicant, and an indication of sponsorship
  • Amount of available funds in U.S. or foreign currency
  • Photocopy of Your Passport

Important Notes

  • Certified documentation of financial support is required for all international students except those completing their program entirely online.
  • U.S. government loans and grants are not available to international students, and
  • Antioch University does not offer substantial fellowships or assistantships.
  • To obtain an F-1 student visa, you must submit certified evidence of financial support, which will be used to complete the I-20 paperwork.

To ensure a smooth transition, please be prepared to submit the following documents in addition to the requirements for all new international students:

  1. Photocopy of your original I-20
  2. Photocopy of your I-94
  3. Photocopy of your Visa
  4. Complete the International Student Transfer In form
