With a deep fascination for the intricate dance between species and their environments, I’m a geospatial scientist and educator who empowers students to unlock the power of geospatial analysis. My research delves into the heart of terrestrial, freshwater, and marine coastal habitats, utilizing a dynamic combination of in situ and satellite remote sensing techniques. I focus on the spatial choreography of these ecosystems, recognizing the interconnectedness that transcends political and cultural boundaries. My research interests encompass Environmental Justice, Spatial Ecology, Conservation Biology, and Science Education, reflecting my commitment to a holistic understanding of our planet.
Beyond the Classroom:

  • Expertise and Engagement: My skillset encompasses leveraging GIS, remote sensing, and statistical techniques to tackle complex environmental challenges. My research focuses on areas like habitat mapping, species distribution modeling, and environmental change detection.
  • Science Communication: I believe in the power of clear and engaging science communication. I actively give keynote talks, provide workshops and webinars to educational organizations, clubs, and groups, and even share tips for graduate students, empowering them on their academic journeys.
  • Civic Engagement: A strong believer in transparency, accountability, and integrity, I’m committed to serving my community. My dedication extends to appointments on the Templeton Conservation Commission, where I work collaboratively to safeguard our local environment.

Previously, I had the privilege of serving as a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Forest, further enriching my research experience. I’ve actively collaborated with K-12 educators to develop engaging environmental curriculum and currently lead impactful mapping workshops for local students, fostering a new generation of environmentally conscious minds.
A lifelong learner and advocate for our planet, I’m fueled by a thirst for knowledge and a fervent desire to foster a more sustainable future. Let’s connect and explore the potential of geospatial science together!
