Candy is a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, a Registered Drama Therapist/Board Certified Trainer, and a Certified Child Life Specialist. Currently, the President of both the Hong Kong Child Life Association and Hong Kong Dance Movement Therapy Association, Candy has been serving at the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA)’s Standard and Ethics committee since 2017 and co-led the Asian and Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Affinity Group (AAIPDA) from 2019-2021.
After graduating from Antioch University New England, Candy started her private practice, Piece of Sky, in Hong Kong. She has been an honorary lecturer of the Expressive Arts Therapy program at the University of Hong Kong since 2014 and is an Adjunct Faculty at Lesley University and Antioch University New England. She taught the Medical Humanities program (Performing Arts Module developed by The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection) at the School of Medicine at HKU for five years.
Candy’s passion lies in serving medical professionals and pediatric and adult patients in the medical settings while also working with a wide range of populations: adults in the Autistic Spectrum, children with Selective Mutism, bereavement, people with developmental disabilities, etc.
Candy holds an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling, a BA(Hon) in Musical Theatre Dance, and a Diploma in Drama. She worked at Hong Kong Disneyland as a singer before her therapy career.
Candy lived in Hong Kong, Belgium, the UK, and the US; she is currently splitting her time between Hong Kong and the US.
