Consuelo V. Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Antioch University Teaching Faculty, Nationally Certified Anger Management Facilitator, and Independent Consultant who has worked in the mental health field since 1993.
She has a BS in Dance Education from NYU, an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy from UCLA, and an MA in Clinical Psychology from AULA. She is currently a PhD student at the Antioch University Graduate School for Leadership and Change (GSLC). She also has a private psychotherapy practice, is an independent consultant, and has worked in the Departments of Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine at Kaiser Permanente for the last 20 years.
Professor Davis was an Adjunct Faculty member in the MAP program at Antioch University Los Angeles since 2017 and accepted a Teaching Faculty position in 2021. She specializes in the psychotherapeutic use of holistic (mind/body), culturally relevant, trauma-informed and research to practice treatment interventions with various populations.
One of her primary interests is to teach verbal therapists how to integrate the body into the therapeutic process. She has been instrumental in developing the Somatic Specialization curriculum for AULA, teaches in the Somatic Certification program for AUSB, and has been a guest instructor in AUNE’s Dance/Movement Therapy program. In addition, she planned, developed, and implemented the Holistic Treatment Interventions for Trauma and Addiction Recovery class for Antioch students and has been certified to teach this class for continuing education units for licensed professionals.
