Home Faculty Directory Coreena Hendrickson, LCSW

I was born and raised in the Midwest. I moved to Los Angeles to go to graduate school and stayed for 40 years. My family and I moved to Wisconsin in 2022. I am now a licensed clinical social worker in California and Wisconsin. I am “semi-retired,” love to teach at Antioch, birdwatch, and enjoy the outdoors when it’s not too cold.

Senior Lecturer

Masters in Clinical Psychology

I graduated from UCLA School of Social Work with my MSW.

I love teaching. I am inspired by the eagerness and enthusiasm students bring to each class. I am delighted to share what I’ve learned as a consumer, an administrator, and a clinician in mental health and addiction recovery over the past few decades. I want to provide students with real life stories and examples that demonstrate core concepts, clinical errors and wonderful outcomes. I want students think critically, challenging their ideas and assumptions about mental illness and addiction. I believe that the more I challenge my assumptions, (usually generated by stigma and influenced by sexism, racism, and all forms of oppression) the more I learn and grow. I aspire to keep students engaged to explore our most current practices within our historical constructs. I try to practice with enthusiasm, humor, and humility. I encourage active participation and welcome all feedback toward making classes more effective.
