Sabrina D. Morris, PhD ABD, NCC, LPCC (CA), LPC (CO), LIMHP (NE), LPCC-S (OH), is a humanistic counselor whose passion is building healthy and strong global communities one individual at a time. Ms. Morris has over 30 years of experience in comprehensive behavioral healthcare and teaching. Ms. Morris’ research interests include self-care and wellness practices among counselor educators teaching online during COVID-19; integrating anti-racist self-care and wellness curricula into counselor education; holistic wellness; anti-racist leadership, and advocacy in counselor education. She is the owner of Morris Wellness, Inc., which serves four states currently.

Over the years, Ms. Morris has served infants, children, youth, and adults in various settings. Innovative program development and evaluation is among her core passion area. One of her most notable accomplishments is the highly acclaimed Teen Talk Responding Program, which is one of two ground-breaking diversion programs in the country spearheaded via an initiative from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Models for Change Mental Health/Juvenile Justice Action Network.

Ms. Morris is committed to advocating for mental health justice and propelling equal care for all. Thus, she is serving her profession, community, and California state as a Board Member of the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC). She is the current President of the Chi Upsilon Chi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota at Capella University; and the outgoing WACES Graduate Student Representative to ACES. She is also an active member of ACA, ACES, AHC, AMHCA, CSJ, and IARTC.

She has spent a number of years advocating for juvenile and adult justice reform as well as training community members to respond to mental health crises in healthy ways. Therefore, another area of interest has been volunteering as a Crisis Intervention Team for Law Enforcement Trainers for over 15 years. She is also a Mental Health First Aid for Youth, for Adults and for Law Enforcement Trainer.

Ms. Morris resides in San Diego with her daughter Arianna and their puppies, Kotaro and Kasper. She enjoys going to the beach, concerts, and international travel.
