Number of Positions: 6 – The student leadership team of the Counselors for Social Justice Student Group is diverse and collaborative. The work required to maintain our chapter of the nationwide Counselors for Social Justice Division of the American Counseling Association is extensive.

Method to assess remote work: I meet with the students weekly for one hour via Zoom to discuss goals and tasks, and to assess progress on student identified projects.

Job Description

  • ​Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) is a national division of the American Counseling Association.
  • These positions will provide leadership across the School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy for the university chapter of CSJ.
  • CSJ works to promote social justice in our society through confronting oppressive systems of power and privilege that affect professional counselors and our clients and to assist in the positive change in our society through ​the professional development of counselors.
  • The CSJ coordinator will develop community for students who want to explore counseling through a social justice lens.
  • The coordinators will plan events, discussion groups, and collaborative activities connected with social justice advocacy in counseling.
  • Additionally, the coordinators will update the CSJ website with relevant resources for students and faculty, provide resources to enhance courses, and serve as liaisons with the national CSJ organization.
  • This position is 100% remote.

Qualifications

  • Passion for Social Justice and an understanding of SJ advocacy
  • Experience with community organizing or student activity coordinating
  • Any experience with Social Media or Marketing would be helpful
