Annual Compensation Starting Rate: $90,000.00

Position Overview 

This position provides overall strategic direction and management to the Colleague Application Support team as well as providing onsite leadership and coordination of all Antioch University’s computing systems resources and coordination with Network and Systems department. This responsibility includes all Colleague modules and implementation support. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of technology projects and day-to-day operations to ensure that goals are accomplished by performing the following core functions personally or through subordinates. Specifies, researches, and manages projects of varying complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides overall strategic direction and management expertise to the administrative computing of the university. This responsibility includes all administrative computing and system implementations support. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of technology projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  2. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  3. Consults with management and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing administrative computing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources. Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources. Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project. Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. Coordinates recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel. Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  4. Establishes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules and plans as required. Prepares project status reports and keeps management and stakeholders informed of project status and related issues. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems. Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications. Monitors project results against technical specifications. Develops and maintains technical and project documentation. Develops quality assurance test plans. Directs quality assurance testing.  Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years software application management experience in higher education.  Application consulting or Business Processing experience in higher education environment is highly desired.  The ability to clearly communicate project status is very important.

Hours of Employment

This is a full-time, exempt, position serving a national university which operates in multiple time zones. A work schedule will be established in consultation with the supervisor, some on-call and “odd-hours” may be required.

Location

Anywhere within the continental United States, either from a home office or at a campus or University location. Some travel may required to University Campuses.

This position is included in the bargaining unit of Antioch University faculty that is represented by SEIU Local 925.  Terms and conditions of employment for bargaining unit positions are subject to change based on collective bargaining.
